‘Gigi’s’ Italian coach says he’ll return to Italy

Football Italian – Serie A – Gigi Buffon says he will return to his native Italy and will coach in the next season’s Serie A. “I will return in the second half of the season,” he said in a statement.

Buffon has not ruled out the possibility of making a return to international football but he said the Italian game would not be the right place for him.

“I am very happy to come back to Italy and work with the new coaches and I will be doing this in the future,” he added.

There is also a strong possibility that Buffon will take a year off from coaching after he was promoted from the second-tier club of Genoa in 2013.

However, he has not indicated his plans in the immediate future.

He has not played for the Giallorossi since the end of January due to a hip injury and he will miss the first leg of the second leg of their Champions League tie against Bayern Munich on Sunday.

The news came just days after the Gialls announced they would sell the club to a consortium of Chinese investors.
